Are you online and attracting the attention of Hiring Managers
Are you online and attracting the attention of Hiring Managers Over 150 senior executives from 1,000 companies were recently surveyed by an independent company employed by Robert Half International. The question asked, Which of the following technology tools do you believe will be most useful in your firms recruiting efforts in the next three years? The results were predictable to me, however, I suspect they will be an eye opener to some not familiar with todays job search processes. Nearly two-thirds of those executives interviewed stated that professional networking sites, such as LinkedIn, will prove useful in their search for job candidates, while 25% referred to Facebook and MySpace as potential resources. If you are going to have an edge over the competition, it is imperative that you have a presence on the Internet and specifically, professional online networking sites. These sites can be used to identify new career opportunities, create online profiles that highlight ones skills and experience, and build a network of business contacts over time. In conclusion, Max Messmer, chairman and CEO of Robert Half International stated, Tried-and-true methods such as networking at industry events, submitting well-written resumes and cover letters, and diligently following up with hiring managers are still essential to landing the idea job. Interesting insights from a different perspective. What do you think?
